Understanding Unix Epoch Time
Unix timestamp (also known as POSIX time or Unix epoch time) is the number of seconds that have elapsed since 00:00:00 UTC on 1 January 1970, minus leap seconds.
- Seconds vs Milliseconds: 10-digit timestamps (e.g. 1700000000) are measured in seconds. 13-digit timestamps (e.g. 1700000000000) are in milliseconds (commonly used in JavaScript).
- Local Timezone: The local time display uses your browser's configured timezone and locale.
